Hydroclimate Research

Turning data into information, information into knowledge, knowledge into understanding, and understanding into wisdom.

Monitoring and predicting drought at subseasonal to seasonal time scales can help to mitigate the drought impacts. Understanding the predictability and developing methods to improve the forecast capability are an essential area of our research.

One important aspect of climate change impact assessment is to quantify the change and uncertainties at regional scale and the impacts on agriculture, energy, health and environment.

Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
       - Benjamin Franklin

Teaching is an important part of my academic career. I have offered courses like Introduction to Meteorology, Severe and Hazardous Weather to undergraduate students, and Physical Hydrology and Seminar courses to graduate students.

Search for the truth is the noblest occupation of man; its publication is a duty.
    - Madame de Stael

Peer-reviewed publications on various topics including numerical modeling, climate change, seasonal forecasting, are produced by our group. Many of these publications have been cited numerous times by others.
